Kia EV6 tires

The Kia EV6 leaves the factory on 235/55 R19 and 255/45 R20 depending on wheel size, and the 235/55 R19 105V XL below is the one most owners are replacing. XL is not optional here; it is what the car was type approved on. The Audi Q4 e-tron takes the same size.
Every fitment
| Generation | Trim | Wheel | Tire size | Load index | Speed | Construction | Marking | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2021 onwards | Light and Wind | 19in | 235/55 R19 | 105 | V | XL | none | 36 psi |
| 2021 onwards | GT-Line | 20in | 255/45 R20 | 105 | H | XL | none | 36 psi |
Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the driver's door jamb. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tire.
What it left the factory on
Homologated by Kia, from their own published data. These are the specific builds the car was approved on, and the same pattern sold in the shops is frequently built differently: a different load index, a different construction, sometimes a different compound. Where the two differ, the figures below are the bar a replacement has to clear, not a description of what you will be sold.
Nexen N'FERA Sport
Continental PremiumContact 6
There is no rolling resistance grade on a US tire. What is molded into the sidewall is UTQG: a treadwear number, a traction grade of AA, A, B or C, and a temperature grade of A, B or C.
What changes on this car
The GT-Line's 20 inch fitment is a 105H, not the 105V most people assume from the car's performance. H is 130mph and it is what Kia type approved the car on, so it is the figure a replacement has to meet rather than beat.
Kia publish the original equipment label data themselves, which is unusual and useful: the 19 inch car left the factory on a Kumho PS71 or a Nexen N'FERA Sport graded A for fuel efficiency and B for wet grip, and the 20 inch on a Continental PremiumContact 6 at B and A. Those grades are the bar a replacement has to clear.
Both fitments are XL, and on a car this heavy that is not a detail. An SL tire in either size is the wrong tire however good the label grades look.
Which one to buy
How these were chosen. Everything here already clears this vehicle's own load index, speed rating and construction class. Each heading is a question about use rather than a ranking. The whole method.
If wet braking matters most
Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded A for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. EPREL registration 2626877.
If range is what you care about
Graded A for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 1367619.
If you want the cabin quiet
Measured at 70 decibels, the quietest of the set. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 2644146.
If it gets properly cold where you are
A winter tire, so a second set rather than a replacement for what is on the car now. Graded D for wet grip. Graded B for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 727673.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tire and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tire's own rating while it is fitted.
Everything that fits the 255/45 R20
Ordering is by the registered label figure, not by anything we think of them.
Designed for electric cars from the ground up rather than adapted from a combustion tire, and the winner of the 2025 Auto Bild EV tire test.
An all-season tire for electric cars, which is a sensible default in a climate that rarely makes a full winter tire worth the second set of wheels.
Graded A for fuel efficiency in several of the sizes heavy electric cars use, which is a harder result on a two ton car than it looks.
A studless winter tire built for the weight and the rolling resistance demands of an electric car.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tire and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tire's own rating while it is fitted.
Sumitomo's electric-car range at a price well below the flagships, with the load ratings heavy battery cars actually need.
A Korean-built summer tire that turns up as original equipment more often than its profile suggests, graded A for fuel efficiency.
A high performance summer tire available in the Y rated sizes that heavy, fast electric cars are specified with.
Graded A for wet grip in the large sizes electric SUVs run, which is the grade worth paying for.
A performance summer tire built for heavy, fast electric cars, with an acoustic foam liner bonded inside the cavity.
Where these figures come from
- Kia UK Product Information Sheet under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2020/740 for the EV6, kia.com/.../EV6 Tyre Label.pdf. Gives 235/55 R19 105V XL (Kumho PS71, label A/B/72dB; Nexen N'FERA Sport, A/B/71dB) and 255/45 R20 105H XL (Continental PremiumContact 6, B/A/72dB).pdf
- Continental's by-manufacturer fitment page for the Kia EV6
Including the manufacturer's own published figure. Neither source is standing next to your vehicle, which is why the placard still wins.

Common questions
- What size tires does the Kia EV6 take?
- It runs 235/55 R19 and 255/45 R20. The exact fitment for your car is on Driver's door jamb.
- Can I fit a cheaper tire to a Kia EV6?
- Only at 235/55 R19 105V XL or better. That is the figure to hold: a tire below the load index, the speed rating or the construction class is not a cheaper one, it is the wrong one.
- What pressure should a Kia EV6 run?
- 36 psi cold on the fitment above, from the placard. Check it monthly and check it cold, because a warm tire reads high and an underinflated one costs range every mile you drive.
