If wet braking matters most
Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded C for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 2744391.

The Lexus RZ leaves the factory on 235/50 R20 and 235/60 R18 depending on wheel size, and the 235/60 R18 103V below is the one most owners are replacing. A standard load 103 rating is modest for an electric car and says something about where this one's curb weight sits. It is staggered: a 235 section at the front and a 255 at the back, so the two can never be swapped across axles and the rear goes first. The Subaru Solterra takes the same size.
| Generation | Trim | Wheel | Tire size | Load index | Speed | Construction | Marking | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Current | RZ 450e AWD, 18in | 18in | 235/60 R18 front, 255/55 R18 rear | 103 | V | SL | none | see plate |
| Current | AWD, 20in | 20in | 235/50 R20 front, 255/45 R20 rear | 104 | V | XL | none | see plate |
Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the on the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tire.
All-wheel-drive RZs are staggered on both wheel sizes, with a 255 mm rear against a 235 mm front, so a full set means two different tires. The front-wheel-drive RZ 300e and 350e use a single 235/60 R18 all round.
On 20 inch wheels both axles are XL: 104V at the front and 105W at the rear, the rear carrying 925 kg. The 18 inch staggered set stays at standard load, with the front H rated in Britain and V rated in the US.
Michelin's UK selector also shows the staggered 20 inch set against the front-wheel-drive RZ, but the Lexus UK brochure lists a square 235/50 R20 for those cars, so no front-drive 20 inch fitment is given here.
How these were chosen. Everything here already clears this vehicle's own load index, speed rating and construction class. Each heading is a question about use rather than a ranking. The whole method.
Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded C for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 2744391.
Graded B for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 2422476.
Measured at 72 decibels. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 2548644.
A winter tire, so a second set rather than a replacement for what is on the car now. Graded D for wet grip. Graded B for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. EPREL registration 727673.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tire and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tire's own rating while it is fitted.
Ordering is by the registered label figure, not by anything we think of them.
Graded A for fuel efficiency in several of the sizes heavy electric cars use, which is a harder result on a two ton car than it looks.
A studless winter tire built for the weight and the rolling resistance demands of an electric car.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tire and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tire's own rating while it is fitted.
A Korean-built summer tire that turns up as original equipment more often than its profile suggests, graded A for fuel efficiency.
A high performance summer tire available in the Y rated sizes that heavy, fast electric cars are specified with.
A performance summer tire built for heavy, fast electric cars, with an acoustic foam liner bonded inside the cavity.
Including the manufacturer's own published figure. Neither source is standing next to your vehicle, which is why the placard still wins.
