If wet braking matters most
Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded C for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 2744391.

The BMW iX3 leaves the factory on 245/45 R20 and 245/50 R19 and 255/35 R22 and 255/45 R20 depending on wheel size, and the 245/50 R19 105W XL below is the one most owners are replacing. XL is not optional here; it is what the car was type approved on. It is staggered: a 245 section at the front and a 275 at the back, so the two can never be swapped across axles and the rear goes first. The BMW i7 takes the same size.

Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the on the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tyre.
Two different cars share the name. The first iX3 was built on the X3 body from 2020 to 2025; the Neue Klasse iX3 that replaced it in 2025 is a new platform and runs a wider 255 front tyre where the old car used 245.
BMW's 2020 data puts the first-generation car on a square 245/50 R19 105W XL, while its 20in option is staggered with a 275/40 rear. The first generation is W-rated on both sizes, as is the new car's standard 20in.
For the Neue Klasse iX3 50 xDrive, BMW quotes a 1,565 kg rear axle limit and fits 255/45 R20 105W XL as standard, 1,850 kg for the rear pair. The 22in option is staggered and moves to a Y rating.
Michelin's UK data lists several 21in combinations for the new car, square and staggered, without agreeing on one, so the 21in is not given here.
How these were chosen. Everything here already clears this vehicle's own load index, speed rating and construction class. Each heading is a question about use rather than a ranking. The whole method.
Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded C for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 2744391.
Graded B for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 2422476.
Measured at 72 decibels. Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. EPREL registration 2548644.
A winter tyre, so a second set rather than a replacement for what is on the car now. Graded D for wet grip. Graded B for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. EPREL registration 727673.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tyre and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tyre's own rating while it is fitted.
Ordering is by the registered label figure, not by anything we think of them.
Graded A for fuel efficiency in several of the sizes heavy electric cars use, which is a harder result on a two tonne car than it looks.
A studless winter tyre built for the weight and the rolling resistance demands of an electric car.
Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tyre and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tyre's own rating while it is fitted.
A Korean-built summer tyre that turns up as original equipment more often than its profile suggests, graded A for fuel efficiency.
A high performance summer tyre available in the Y rated sizes that heavy, fast electric cars are specified with.
A performance summer tyre built for heavy, fast electric cars, with an acoustic foam liner bonded inside the cavity.
Including the manufacturer's own published figure. Neither source is standing next to your vehicle, which is why the placard still wins.
