Hyundai Ioniq 5 tyres

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 leaves the factory on 235/55 R19 and 255/45 R20 depending on wheel size, and the 235/55 R19 101H below is the one most owners are replacing. A standard load 101 rating is modest for an electric car and says something about where this one's kerb weight sits. The Audi Q4 e-tron takes the same size.

What you are looking for, drawn. The real one is on driver's door jamb, and its figures are the ones that count.

Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the driver's door jamb. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tyre.

What changes on this car

The 20 inch fitment is a wide, low profile tyre on a heavy car, and it is the one owners most often replace early because of shoulder wear rather than centre wear.

The 19 inch car is a standard load 101H and the 20 inch is an XL 105V. Those are genuinely different tyres, not the same one in two sizes, and a shop quoting you one figure for both has not looked your car up.

It shares both sizes with the Kia EV6, which is the single most useful thing to know when a shop tells you your size is hard to get: it is not, there are simply two badges asking for it.

Which one to buy

How these were chosen. Everything here already clears this vehicle's own load index, speed rating and construction class. Each heading is a question about use rather than a ranking. The whole method.

If wet braking matters most

Graded A for wet grip, and nothing else that fits is graded higher. Graded A for rolling resistance, the best of anything here, and that is the figure that shows on the range display. EPREL registration 2626877.

If it gets properly cold where you are

A winter tyre, so a second set rather than a replacement for what is on the car now. Graded D for wet grip. Graded B for rolling resistance. EPREL registration 727673.

Rated below the speed this vehicle left the factory at, which is permitted for a winter tyre and is why it carries a T or an R. The load index and the construction class still match. Do not exceed the tyre's own rating while it is fitted.

Where these figures come from

  • Michelin's own vehicle fitment tool, michelinman.com/auto/browse-tires/by-vehicle (2025 SE Standard Range, 235/55R19 101H; 2025 Limited AWD, 255/45R20 XL 105V) checked 27 September 2026
  • Big O Tires and Wheel-Size vehicle fitment listings for the 2023 to 2026 Ioniq 5, giving 235/55R19 and 255/45R20 across the trims checked 27 September 2026

Every figure here comes from one tyre maker's own fitment data, checked across different years or trims. That is a second look rather than a second opinion, so check the label on your door jamb before you buy.

Common questions

What size tyres does the Hyundai Ioniq 5 take?
It runs 235/55 R19 and 255/45 R20. The exact fitment for your car is on Driver's door jamb.
Can I fit a cheaper tyre to a Hyundai Ioniq 5?
Only at 235/55 R19 101H or better. That is the figure to hold: a tyre below the load index, the speed rating or the construction class is not a cheaper one, it is the wrong one.
What pressure should a Hyundai Ioniq 5 run?
36 psi cold on the fitment above, from the placard. Check it monthly and check it cold, because a warm tyre reads high and an underinflated one costs range every mile you drive.
