Tern Quick Haul tires
The Tern Quick Haul runs 55-406 in ETRTO sizing, the width in millimetres followed by the rim bead seat diameter. The Tern HSD takes the same size.
Every fitment
| Generation | Trim | Wheel | Tire size | Inch size |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Current | Quick Haul D8 / P9 / P9 Sport (Schwalbe Big Apple) | 20in | 55-406 | 20x2.15 |
Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the printed on the tire sidewall, next to the pressure range. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tire.
What changes on this bike
All three Quick Haul builds use the same Schwalbe Big Apple 55-406 on Kinetix Comp rims, the same size as the HSD, so the two Tern compacts can share spares.
The Quick Haul is rated to 150 kg gross, and the 20in Big Apple's 95 kg rating per tire leaves reasonable headroom at that weight.
Big Apple is a balloon tire with an E-25 rating; for a 25 km/h compact cargo bike that is enough, and its volume does the work a suspension fork would.
No tires listed against this fitment yet. Product specifications are published from each manufacturer's own data and that work is not finished for 55-406. Match or exceed every figure in the table above and you cannot go far wrong.
