MG ZS EV tyres

The MG ZS EV leaves the factory on 205/60 R16 and 215/55 R17 depending on wheel size, and the 205/60 R16 96V XL below is the one most owners are replacing. XL is not optional here; it is what the car was type approved on. The MG MG5 EV takes the same size.
Every fitment
| Generation | Trim | Wheel | Tyre size | Load index | Speed | Construction | Marking | Pressure |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Current | 16in wheels | 16in | 205/60 R16 | 96 | V | XL | none | see plate |
| Current | 17in wheels | 17in | 215/55 R17 | 94 | V | SL | none | see plate |
Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the on the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tyre.
What changes on this car
On the ZS EV the smaller wheel has the higher load index. The 16 inch 205/60 R16 is a 96, good for 710 kg, while the 17 inch 215/55 R17 is a 94 at 670 kg. MG's label sheet for the 16 inch Bridgestone calls it standard load, but 96 is the reinforced rating in that size, so a replacement must be marked XL to match it.
This page covers the facelifted car from 2021. MG's manual for the 2019 model gives 215/50 R17 with no load index, so an early ZS EV should be checked at the door placard rather than matched to these figures.
No tyres listed against this fitment yet. Product specifications are published from each manufacturer's own data and that work is not finished for 205/60 R16. Match or exceed every figure in the table above and you cannot go far wrong.

Common questions
- What size tyres does the MG ZS EV take?
- It runs 205/60 R16 and 215/55 R17. The exact fitment for your car is on On the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar.
- Can I fit a cheaper tyre to a MG ZS EV?
- Only at 205/60 R16 96V XL or better. That is the figure to hold: a tyre below the load index, the speed rating or the construction class is not a cheaper one, it is the wrong one.
