Mini Cooper Electric tyres

The Mini Cooper Electric leaves the factory on 195/60 R16 and 205/50 R17 and 225/40 R18 depending on wheel size, and the 195/60 R16 93H XL below is the one most owners are replacing. XL is not optional here; it is what the car was type approved on. The BYD Dolphin takes the same size.

Your own placard is the authority. You will find it on the on the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar. Where it disagrees with this page, it wins. Match or exceed the size, load index, speed rating and construction class it gives, and use its pressure figure rather than anything printed on the tyre.
What changes on this car
This is the J01 car from 2024, built in China; the older F56 Cooper SE used different sizes. All three wheel options are extra-load, and Cooper E and SE share them.
Load barely changes with wheel size: 93 on 16 and 17 inch, 92 on the 18. What does change is the sidewall, from about 117 mm on the 16 inch down to 90 mm on the 18.
No tyres listed against this fitment yet. Product specifications are published from each manufacturer's own data and that work is not finished for 195/60 R16. Match or exceed every figure in the table above and you cannot go far wrong.

Including the manufacturer's own published figure. Neither source is standing next to your vehicle, which is why the placard still wins.

Common questions
- What size tyres does the Mini Cooper Electric take?
- It runs 195/60 R16 and 205/50 R17 and 225/40 R18. The exact fitment for your car is on On the driver's door jamb, on the B-pillar.
- Can I fit a cheaper tyre to a Mini Cooper Electric?
- Only at 195/60 R16 93H XL or better. That is the figure to hold: a tyre below the load index, the speed rating or the construction class is not a cheaper one, it is the wrong one.
